Women's IntuitioDavis, Elizabeth
Although this slim volume is founded on the assumption that intuition, for constitutional as well as social reasons, is more natural for women, it is also aimed at men. She offers practical advice on bringing forth and using one’s intuition, which seems appropriate, as she is a practicing midwife. Although she cites and sometimes quotes from other works on intuition, she is strongest when she writes from her own experience and conveys the experience of using intuition. Some of her observations about intuition could apply to other forms of exceptional human experience. The five chapters deal with delineation of what intuition is, women and intuition, ways of developing intuition, how to use intuition in daily life, and tuning in to oneself physically, mentally, and socially. She proposes that by living from intuition, new traditions may develop and may even create a "sense of international interconnectedness" (p. 84). This hope is also suggested by other types of EHEs, underlining the possibility that although there are many different types of EHEs, they point in the same direction.
