Cases of the Reincarnation Type, Volume III. Twelve Cases in Lebanon and Turkey

Stevenson, Ian

University of Virginia psychiatrist/parapsychologist Ian Stevenson presents 12 detailed case histories of reincarnation, six in Lebanon and six in Turkey. Most of them were investigated over a period of eight to ten years. Introductions to the chapters describe the reincarnation beliefs of the Druses in Lebanon and the Alevis in Turkey. In addition to the case histories described, Stevenson has summarized the main features of many other cases of reincarnation reported in these two countries. Of particular interest is the final chapter in which Stevenson provides a reevaluation of his interpretation of the reincarnation evidence since his first book on the subject was published in 1966. He explains why he no longer considers ESP to be an alternative explanation, and why he considers normal means of obtaining information, and reincarnation itself to be the likeliest interpretation of these cases.
