This is an overview of information about the ouija board. Hunt reports that a survey he conducted found that 30% of the respondents used the ouija board to communicate with the dead, the same percent-age to communicate with the living, and the remainder to develop psychic ability or as a means of guidance. He gives some case histories illustrating that use of the ouija board can be both helpful and dangerous. Well-known cases discussed are Jane Roberts’ Seth and the Toronto "Philip" group experiment. He discusses automatisms as both inducers of psychosis and cures. An interview with Barbara Honegger is the subject of one chapter.
