This mimeographed bibliography by the founder/director of the Institute for the Study of American Religion is for "those who are interested in furthering their knowledge of paranormal healing in the context of the historic church" (p. 4). Melton provides a short history of the modern healing movement followed by the bibliography proper, which is aimed at being "an exhaustive listing of books concerning spiritual healing as it relates to the mainline Western religious tradition in the 19th and 20th centuries.
