ESP in the Bible Heron, Laurence Tunstall
Heron is a newspaper reporter and editor who became interested in parapsychology and active in the Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship after the death of his 19-year old son. This book is based on the premise that "efforts to discern the will of God have depended, in savage cultures and in high civilizations, upon the exercise of man's extrasensory capacities. Great religions arise from prophetic experience in extrasensory perception (ESP). Prophets are persons who see realities that most men cannot see, and who hear truths that most men cannot sense" (p. 17). This is not only a useful survey of spontaneous psi experiences described in the Old and New Testaments. Heron also relates Biblical psi experiences to similar cases in the literature of psychical research, current findings concerning altered states, and modern instances of inspiration and creativity. He suggests that prophecy and divine inspiration continues, and that it is communicated to man via ESP. There is an appendix which lists the Bible passages cited.
