The Mind Race: Understanding and Using Psychic Abilities.Targ, Russell, & Harary, Keith
According to the authors, Mind Race is aimed at those who have wondered what is really happening in psi research in the U.S. and in the Soviet Union, and to counteract the distorted picture provided by the media. It also attempts to provide compelling evidence of the existence of high-quality psychic functioning. They tell how psychic abilities might be useful to the reader in everyday life, and describe techniques that can be used to develop psychic abilities. Emphasis is given to remote viewing, including precognitive remote viewing. Three informative and highly readable chapters educate the reader as to the misrepresentations of psychic abilities and psi research by various cults, in movies and TV, and by the press. Psi is presented as a perfectly normal component of human functioning. An epilogue, "Psi Research in the Soviet Union: Are They Ahead of Us?" is contributed by Larissa Vilenskaya. A bibliography of remote-viewing research 1973-1982 is also appended.
