What's New in ESP

Ebon, Martin

This is a popular survey of current happenings in parapsychology. Its style and language and subject matter make it of interest to high school students. The combination of non-technical language and subject matter of current interest makes it a useful book for newcomers to the field, for students, and for laypersons. After an introductory chapter on self-testing for ESP and PK, the book is divided into three sections. The first, "Leading Contemporary Psychics," consists of chapters on Uri Geller, Matthew Manning, Ingo Swann, and Ganzfeld experiments. Part II, "ESP Enters Other Areas" has three chapters on ESP and animals, archaeology, and religion, respectively. The last part is on survival and has chapters on exorcism, the experiments conducted by Karlis Osis funded by the Kidd legacy, and the instances of seeming xenoglossy and reincarnation investigated by Ian Stevenson. A concluding chapter relates ESP to other sciences. A list of the names and addresses of six "major research centers" is appended.
