Survival? Body, Mind and Death in the Light of Psychic ExperienceLorimer, David
Lorimer begins with a history of views about immortality and the mind-body problem. He points out that interactionism is compatible with the idea that the conscious self continues after death. In the second part he discusses the empirical evidence suggestive of survival: apparitions, OBEs, NDEs, and postmortem communications. He concludes that "although the data surveyed are not in themselves coercive or conclusive proof that the conscious self survives bodily death, they are . . . concrete pointers which demand a coherent and comprehensive explanation" (p. 304).
