The author, a retired assistant master at Harrow School and a member of the Council of the Society for Psychical Research, has written this survey of the evidence for and theories of reincarnation in order to enable the reader to draw his or her own conclusions concerning the phenomenon. The types of evidence described are déjà vu, the life-readings of Edgar Cayce, hypnotic age regression, the Christos phenomenon, the research of Ian Stevenson, and the experiences of Arthur Guirdham. The last two chapters provide a summary of the arguments for and against reincarnation and a theology of reincarnation that tries to summarize the many differing views about the progress of the entity after death. | |
