Shamanism: An Expanded View of RealityNicholson, Shirley
This collection of previously published articles on shamanism is in five sections. The first consists of five articles on the alternate reality of the shaman. The second section, "Shamanic States of Consciousness," may be the one most germane to parapsychology. It contains an article by Jeanne Achterberg on shamanic healing, Stanley Krippner on shamanic dreams, D. Scott Rogo on "Shamanism, ESP, and the Paranormal" (the most relevant chapter to parapsychology in the book), and Jim Swan on the shamanic healer, Rolling Thunder. The chapters in the third section are on shamanism as expressed in different cultures. Section IV contains four chapters about shamanism and aspects of the perennial philosophy. The last section, "Shamanism in a Changing World," consists of three articles on shamanism today.
