Spiritual Dimensions of Healing

Krippner, Stanley, & Welch, Patrick

The authors explore various healing modalities, each within its cultural context. It is based on interviews conducted by one or both authors with many healers representing a variety of types of healing in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Chapters are devoted to Shamans, Shamanic healers, Priests and Religious Healers, Mediums and Spiritists, sorcerers and witches. There are general chapters on healing the spirit, healing models, investigating spiritual healing, spiritual healing anomalies, and integrating spiritual healing into counseling, psychotherapy, nursing, and medicine. The cross-cultural approach combined with the many healing modalities discussed, and the emphasis on their respective worldviews makes this a provocative work.
