A Seer Out of Season: The Life of Edgar CayceBro, Harmon Hartzell
This work is the result of many years of studying Edgar Cayce, beginning with Bro's doctoral dissertation on the well-known psychic. Bro worked closely with Cayce's son Hugh Lynn, who carefully reviewed the early draft until his death in 1982. The book offers the author's nearly year-long firsthand observations of Cayce at work; Cayce's views on "health, visionary ability, spirituality and reincarnation" (p. 17); a picture of Edgar Cayce based not only on Bro's experience but on hundreds of interviews, Cayce's unpublished memoirs, and even his dreams; and the central theme throughout the book in which Bro asks how we might find or develop more persons with gifts similar to those of Cayce. A chronology of Cayce's life is included and a selected bibliography of works by and about him.
