Death and Personal Survival: The Evidence for Life After DeathAlmeder, Robert
This volume is a more in-depth presentation of the evidence for survival than his first book, which was aimed at the general reader and "hit the high spots." The present volume presents additional evidence, and the discussions of the various kinds of evidence is more detailed. A chapter each is devoted to reincarnation, apparitions of the dead, possession, out-of-body experiences, and communications from the dead. The sixth chapter views the evidence collectively and responds to the three fairly common skeptical objections to survival: logical impossibility, scientific improbability, and the possibility of fraud. Throughout his aim is to provide a positive answer to the question: "If a person were to believe in reincarnation or ... some form of personal postmortem survival, for the reasons defended in this book, would that person’s belief be a rational belief?" His answer is yes.
