This is a collection of readings on the role of intuition in leadership and management. Both theoretical and practical aspects are emphasized. Hints are provided about how to use intuition practically to guide decisions and increase productivity. Part I contains 4 chapters describing intuition by Herbert A. Simon, Frances E. Vaughan, Philip Goldberg, and Roy Rowan. The second part, "The Importance of Intuition in Leadership and Management," consists of 3 chapters by Daniel J. Isenberg, Stephen C. Harper, and Agor. Part III, "Test Your Intuitive Ability and Compare Yourself to National Norms," contains 3 chapters by the author. The fourth section, "How to Use Intuition in Decision Making to Increase Productivity," consists of 3 chapters by Philip Goldberg, Roy Rosen, and Agor. Part 5, "How to Develop Your Intuitive Powers Further," contains two chapters, one by Agor and one by Michael Ray and Rochelle Myers. Part 6, "Future Research Agenda," consists of an important chapter by Agor entitled "The Logic of Intuitive Decision-Making: An Agenda for Future Research." It contains a detailed outline of a list of potentially useful hypotheses about intuition that lend themselves to systematic study. | |
