The Elusive Quarry: A Scientific Appraisal of Psychical Research

 This is a collection of the critiques and analyses of a major critic of parapsychology. Part I consists of papers on laboratory psi written over a period of 30 years. Part II is on "Scientists and the Paranormal." Part III is on "Psychic Phenomena" (dowsing, unorthodox healing, and a remote-viewing experiment conducted by Hyman, as a skeptic, and James McClenon, as a believer. The last part contains articles on the psychology of belief. Also included is a 1979 interview with Jeffrey Mishlove and an Epilogue which could be very useful in obtaining a capsulized view of his opinions. It consists of the various questions he tried to address in the articles included. For each question, he provides a short answer from his current perspective.
