Goodman, Stanislav Grof, Joan Halifax, Michael Harner, Ake Hultkrantz, Serge King, Jurgen W. Kremer, Stanley Krippner, Frank Lawlis, Jacques Lemoine, Lewis E. Mehl, Rowena Pattee, Jim Swan, and Joan B. Townsend. Doore writes: "The book is addressed to many different kinds of readers, both to those whose interests are theoretical as well as to those who wish to learn more about practical ‘core’ shamanism as a tool for healing and personal growth" (p. 2). Part I, "Shamans and Neo-Shamans," consists of seven essays about shamans and their world. The second part contains seven contributions on shamanic healing.
