The 1989 convention of the Parapsychological Association was held in San Diego, California. This volume consists of 1500-word summaries of 19 papers, a symposium, and the complete texts of an invited address, "Psi and the Phenomena of Channeling," by Arthur Hastings, and the presidential address, "Psi, Self, and the New Mentalism," by Hoyt Edge. The 19 papers are arranged in nine subject categories: spontaneous experiences (3), random number generator studies (2), Ganzfeld studies (2), methodological issues (1), PK on living systems (3), physiological variables (2), psychological variables (2), meta-analyses (2) and historical studies (2). The symposium was entitled "Approaches to the Target" and consisted of two papers. | |
