An Experience of EnlightenmentCourtois, Flora
In the Preface to this small book about an individual's mystical experience, Hus- ton Smith, after pointing out that loss of faith in transcendence characterizes modern times, so as that faith cannot be restored by arguments: "Sightings are needed, and here . . . is a report of a sighting that is totally convincing" (p. xii). Courtois describes the events leading up to her experience, the experience it- self, and how she learned to live with it, and her advice to others who might wish to experience what she did. An account by an independent witness to her experience is also included."
