Mandala: Luminous Symbols for HealingCornell, Judith
I would judge that at least half of this book is composed of artwork in color presumably by the author. They are primarily mandalas. Cornell, who is an inspired artist, says her book "is a convergence of Eastern and Western thought—merging the meditative practice of sacred art, the insights of quantum physics into the nature of light, and the ancient wisdom. Each chapter is a blend of spiritual philosophy, transpersonal psychology, and exercises designed to promote healing of mind, body, and soul" (p. 1). In the Introduction she discusses the healing properties of mandalas. The chapters are entitled Mandalas as Patterns of Light and Sound, Our Bodies as Conduits of Light, Radiant symbols for Healing, Rainbow Colors and Healing, Healing Our Relationships, and Illuminating Sacred and Mystical Realities. Each chapter, in addition to text of his one or more meditations, suggested materials, and exercises. An Afterword describes the use of mandalas in Jungian therapy.
