Parapsychology and the Nature of Life Randall, John L.
The author of this book is a British biologist who has been actively engaged in psi research. He attempts to assess the role of parapsychology as regards the nature of life in general and human personality in particular. He describes the books as follows in the Preface: "Part I outlines the development of those sciences which have contributed most directly to the mechanistic theory of life, and attempts to evaluate their overall effect on human life and thought. Part II, the major section of the book, deals with the problems, failures, and successes of parapsychology" (pp. 6-7). In the third part, which he grants is the most speculative section, he offers his assessment of the implications of parapsychology for our conception of nature and man. A nine-page bibliography is provided for those who wish to delve further.
