The Case for Possession

Pettiward, Cynthia

British teacher and healer Cynthia Pettiward proposes that the causes of mental and physical ill-health sometimes may be found outside the person involved and his or her environment, epilepsy in particular. She proposes that some illnesses are due to possession by deceased persons. In this essay she summarizes the evidence for possession by discarnate entities and also the evidence for survival as it bears on the possession hypothesis. The characteristics and types of possessions are described and analyzed. The book is intended to serve as a stimulus to further research by psychiatrists and other medical professionals.
