Dreambody: The Body's Role in Revealing the Self

Mindell, Arnold (Sisa Sternback-Scott & Becky Goodman, Eds.).

Jungian analyst Mindell's concept of the "dreambody" roughly corresponds to the "subtle body," which he defines as "a higher energic field intensity, that is, a patterned experience without definite spatial or temporal dimensions." The dream body oscillates between matter and psyche. He holds that it is the dreambody that is experienced in NDEs, OBEs, shamanism, and mediumistic trance. It can serve as a catalyst for synchronistic, and possibly psychic, events. The main emphasis of the book is on the role of the dreambody in psychotherapy. Mindell sees illusions as opportunities to commence the process of individuation accompanied by dreambody awareness.
