Cases of the Reincarnation Type: Volume IV. Twelve Cases in Thailand and BurmaStevenson, Ian
In the fourth volume of this series of detailed, scholarly case reports of persons who claim to remember past lives, seven cases from Thailand and five from Burma are presented. All cases were personally investigated in situ by the author, a psychiatrist, who conducted extensive interviews with the aid of an interpreter and made detailed field notes. Two introductory chapters provide background information on reincarnation beliefs among Burmese and Thai Buddhists, and summarize the main characteristics of the cases in Burma and Thailand. Although in many respects the cases tend to be similar to those investigated elsewhere, in several respects they differ. There is a glossary of Asian terms used in the text.
