Superminds: A Scientist Looks at the Geller Metal-Bending Phenomena and the Paranormal Taylor, John
Although much has been written about Uri Geller, very little has appeared concerning the mini-Gellers, or persons who develop metal-bending abilities, usually after seeing or listening to Geller on radio, TV, or in person. He feels that if the phenomena of even a few mini-Gellers are genuine, this fact indirectly vouches for Geller's phenomena. Professor John Taylor, a physicist of King's College, London, has investigated both Geller and the mini-Gellers. He describes the results of his investigations in Superminds, but unfortunately provides insufficient information concerning the test conditions and controls. Half the book is devoted to his investigations and the remainder to his efforts to explain psi by the known principles of physics—electromagnetism, to be specific—a theory which parapsychologists find lacking. An outstanding feature of the book is its many illustrations. Taylor was later to become critical of parapsychology.
