Anatomy of Genius: Split Brains and Global Minds Ehrenwald, Jan
This work deals with aspects of the neurophysiology of genius, with emphasis placed on the implications of the findings of split brain research. The author notes that it proceeds along the matic, logical, not chronological lines, using men like Beethoven, Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, or Picasso as its targets of opportunity, drawn from history and from the prodigious bounty of human experience. Each consecutive chapter brings into view a succession of specific aspects of the problem, supporting and reinforcing the argument pursued in the preceding chapters. It thus moves from hunches to hypotheses, from conjectures to tentative conclusions and generalizations about the characteristics, if not the nature, of genius. Parapsychology is touched on in the chapter on the divided brain in which R. Broughton's research is summarized and in the chapters on Freud and Jung. He discusses the question of Hitler's psychic ability and devotes a whole chapter to the mediumship of Eileen Garrett.
