Beyond Illness: Discovering the Experience of Health

Dossey, Larry

Presents a unitary view of the universe and the implications of such a view for health and illness. Emphasizes the experience of health, which is seen as the capacity to accept the whole of experience and the knowledge that everything is interdependent. In one chapter of note he offers a criticism of holistic health. He stresses that spirit is beyond health and illness and is not subject to dualism. He also makes some interesting observtions on the nature of the doctor-patient relationship.
