The Way of Splendor: Jewish Mysticism and Modern PsychologyHoffman, Edward
Psychologist Hoffman's purpose is "to introduce the Kaballah's psychological insights to the general public, unfamiliar with the intricacies of . . . Jewish . . . mysticism" (p. vii). He feels that the Kaballah has key insights to offer that complement the psychological insights from Eastern religions. There are chapters on the Kaballah and its key scholars, the unity of the cosmos, the sacred nature of the body, techniques of inner peace, awakening ecstasy, the relevance of dreams and music, paranormal phenomena, and the nature of death and immortality. The last chapter summarizes the key psychological insights found in the Kaballah.
