ESP and Parapsychology: A Critical Re-evaluation

Hansel, C.E.M.

Parts I and II of this revision of British psychologist Hansel's critical review of parapsychology are substantially the same as his earlier ESP: A Scientific Investigation, with some updating. The same can be said for Part 4, "Conclusions," although this version contains an outline of a definitive experiment involving a sorting machine. Part 3, however, consists of primarily new material. The chapter on testing with a machine has been greatly expanded by a critical review of the work of Helmut Schmidt and that of Targ and Puthoff with machines. Also covered are the Maimonides dream experiments, the Caxton Hall experiment, "the miracle men" (Croiset, Stepanek, Serios, and SRI work with Geller, who has a chapter to himself), and remote-viewing experiments.
