|
Proceedings of a Symposium on Applications of Anomalous Phenomena, November 30-December 1, 1983, Leesburg, VirginiaJones, C.B. Scott (Ed.).
The purpose of this volume is to provide an opportunity for several senior parapsychologists to present their assessment of the current status of the ability to apply psi phenomena to practical ends, as well as a projection of what parapsychology might be in 1990, to a group of managers and scientists from various U.S. government departments and agencies. General theoretical and methodological approaches were presented by Harman, Kelly, Roll and Montagno, and Schwartz and an overview of American and Soviet applications was presented by Targ. The ongoing research at Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research Laboratory was described by Jahn. Research at SRI International was described in two papers: Puthoff on remote viewing and May on PK research. The status of several specific applications was reviewed: in human-equipment interactions (Morris), in dowsing (Harvalik), and in criminal investigation (Osis). There are 5 appendices, two containing bibliographies of psi applications.
