Secrets of the Amazing Kreskin: The World's Foremost Mentalist Reveals How You Can Expand Your Powers

Kreskin

Mentalist Kreskin's starting point is that the whole idea of "extrasensory" perception is misleading. He redefines ESP as "extremely sensitive perception." The book develops the idea that although ESP can be debunked, humans have only begun to develop and use their natural mental capacities. As a mentalist, he explains how to produce certain effects, beginning with some illusions to establish rapport with ones's audience, followed by "startling effects that have often been difficult to explain." Specifically, he says he reveals "the basic principles whereby, using the untapped power of your personality, your persuasiveness, and your ability to perceive beyond the ordinary senses, you too can direct and command many startling effects" (pp. 1-2). There are 12 chapters. Some of the subjects covered are suggestion, educated guesses, telepathy, tapping the unconscious, ESP (or hyperesthesia), and a closing chapter in which he predicts (makes some educated guesses) what the future will be like.
