Angels & Mortals: Their Co-Creative PowerParisen, Maria (Compiler)
This anthology about angelic forms contains 20 pieces arranged in four sections. The three chapters in Part I are on "Experiencing the Ephemeral," and concern on the forms angels take, re-imagining angels, and incarnating angels. In the first, Don Gilmore, who has collected and studied accounts of angelic encounters, writes: "Angel forms are the result of myth-building; they provide a story, metaphor, or symbol through which the essences and energy forces of God may be expressed" (p. 12). There are 8 chapters in the second part, which is entitled "Gods, Guardians, and the Religious Spirit," one of which is "The Cult of the Guardian Angel" by Michael Grosso. It contains a subsection in which he discusses how parapsychology could advance understanding of the psychic power of the guardian angel construct. Part III, "Angels and Archetypes: The Imaginal Realm," consists of three chapters. There are six chapters in Part IV, "Mystical and Magical Encounters."
