The Logic of Intuitive Decision Making: A Research-Based Approach for Top Management (Foreword by Ken Blanchard)Agor, Weston H.
The author, who is head of a management consulting firm and Professor and Director of the Master of Public Administration Program at the University of Texas, El Paso, does not use any parapsychological terms in the text, but they appear in the glossary because several of the references cited are parapsychological. He summarizes the result of his research on the use of intuition in management. The primary research tool used was the survey method, using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to assess intuition and a questionnaire devised by the author to learn how and under what conditions executives make use of intuition in their work. (The questions asked are given in the appendix.) The book is in three parts: In the first, he reviews his research; in the second, he provides a step-by-step method for using and developing intuition to make key decisions; the last part is a discussion of future possibilities for intuition research. The "Annotated Bibliography of Resources on Intuition" contains sources (books, articles, measurement instruments, audio-visual materials) on the nature of intuition, tests used to measure intuition, and examples of the use of intuition by executives.
