A physician reports on her research with clairvoyant Dora Kunz, describing the book as follows: "We studied first the general characteristics of the etheric or vital body, its relationship to the vortices of energy, or chakras, within the field, the effects of these on the endocrine glands, and how they related to other centers. Later we to some extent observed the emotional and the mental fields with their corresponding vortices of energy, but more research is needed in those aspects of the human complex. . . The main objects of Parts One, Two, and Three of this book are to present some historical context for clairvoyant research, as well as a brief outline of the constitution of man as conceived in the esoteric tradition. Part Four presents research into those aspects of the human personality wherein clairvoyant observation perceives health as a state of harmony and disease as a state of dissonance, correlated with medical evidence regarding the physical state of the subjects, and Part Five considers the importance of consciousness as a factor in both health and disease, as well as in personal change and growth, with a final note on where such investigations as these may take us in the future" (pp. 6-7).
