This directory is conceived as an aid to assist persons in finding the individuals and organizations they need to evolve into a new state of consciousness. In his Foreword, the editor points out: "The evolution of this new consciousness rests on the efforts of every individual. To be truly effective elements of change we must ourselves go through a process of transformation and purification. We must heal our bodies, minds, and souls of the wounds suffered by our struggle to survive in the modern world. Throughout this book you will find hundreds of resources to help, heal, and/or restore you to your natural state of vibrancy and health. They are part of an extensive network of holistic health centers, meditation centers, spiritual groups. New Age communities, etc., dedicated to uplifting mankind from its suffering and restoring harmony to the planet" (p. 5). The Directory is in three main sections: New Consciousness Centers, Community Directory, and Classified Listings. The first lists descriptions of important centers and contains several articles on health, well-being, and new consciousness. The second lists the centers and other addresses of interest by city and state. The third lists services and goods according to types.
