Proceedings of the 27th Annual Convention of the Parapsychological Association held August 6-10 at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. The titles of the full paper sessions are "Free-Response Ganzfeld Studies" (2), "Novel Approaches to PK" (3), "Some Tests of Models and Theories " (4), "Brain Physiology and Psi" (2), "Enhancing and Suppressing Psi Functioning" (4), "Theoretical and Philosophical Issues" (4), "Computer-Oriented Psi Tests" (4), "Psychological Factors in Psi Research" (3), and "Criticisms and Reevaluations" (3). There were 5 round tables on "Resistance to Psi Among Parapsychologists" (5), "PK Parties Current Thoughts and Observations " (4), "Meta-Analysis: Integrating Results Across Studies" (6), "Applied Psi: Methods, Results, Problems, and Possibilities" (5), and "Paranormal Education: An Idea Whose Time Has Come" (5). Also included are abstracts of 4 poster sessions and the full text of two invited addresses: "Parapsychology's "Four Cultures": Can the Schism Be Mended?" by Steven M. Rosen, and "What Is Problematic in Parapsychology for Traditional Christianity?" by Mark D. Jordan. The last item is the full text of the presidential address, "The Spontaneous, the Imaginal, and Psi: Foundations for a Depth Parapsychology" by R.A. White. | |
