Time Warps

Gribbin, John

A research astronomer, science writer, and author of several astronomy books for the general reader, in this book Gribben reflects a turning from the physics of time to relationships between time and mind. He calls it "a modest-recognition by a trained physical scientist of the need to go outside physical science to get an understanding of the deepest mysteries of the Universe," and to apply this dual perspective to the question of time travel (p. xiii). Part One is an introduction to the problem of time travel. Part Two shows how "communication across the time barrier is quite within the bounds of possibility as outlined by current scientific knowledge" (p. xvii). The third and final part is titled "Time and Mind." It consists of three chapters on psi in dreams and reincarnation; on the prophetic theories of J.W. Dunne, C.G.Jung, and the I Ching; and his own view of the way mind can affect time
