 This is an introduction to humanistic psychology by a leading British psychotherapist and exponent of humanistic psychology. The book also describes various personal growth techniques, including cocounseling, group workshops, management training, and meditation. The first part is on the background of humanistic psychology: its Western and Eastern roots, and their coming together. The second part is on applications, with chapters on personal growth methodology, counseling, psychotherapy, education, organizational developments, transpersonal psychology, sexuality, and social action and community development. The third and final part is on the future of humanistic psychology, and includes a chapter on theory and research. There is a list of relevant organizations, journals, and magazines. The index is devoted to names only.
